Within the QFC are the Qatar Financial Centre Authority the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority, QFC Civil & Commercial Court, the QFC and the QFC Tribunal and the Companies Registration Office.

The Qatar Financial Centre Authority, which drives the commercial strategy of QFC, is chaired by the Minister of the Finance & Economy of the State of Qatar, and its operations are overseen by a Board of Directors.

The Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority is a fully independent body with its own Board of Directors, whose Chairman and CEO is Phillip Thorpe, and which reports to Qatar's Council of Ministers. The Regulatory Authority has a broad range of powers to authorise, supervise, and when necessary discipline regulated firms and individuals.

The QFC also comprises a commercial court that has jurisdiction over disputes arising within the QFC, and a Tribunal to hear appeals against decisions of the QFC Regulatory Authority. Both the court and appeals body are independent bodies reporting to the Council of Ministers.

Lord Harry Woolf is President of the QFC Civil & Commercial Court and Michael Thomas QC is Chairman of the QFC Regulatory Tribunal.

Finally, any entity wishing to establish in the QFC must be registered with QFC Companies Registration Office.
