Doha, 30 March 2008
HRH the Duke of York, who is a special representative for International Trade and Investment for the British government, visited the QFC Tower on 30 March. He met Stuart Pearce, CEO and Director General of the QFC Authority and Phillip Thorpe, Chairman and CEO of the QFC Regulatory Authority. HRH the Duke of York was accompanied by Roddy Drummond, Charge d’Affaires of the British Embassy, as well as a number of other officials. He recalled that his first visit to the QFC coincided with the day the QFC Tower was initially occupied by the QFC Authority, and commented on how the cityscape had developed in the intervening year. The discussion centred on the various links that the QFC has with institutions in the UK and ways in which these can be further developed.
