MultaQa Qatar to attract representatives of top global insurance and re-insurance firms to Qatar
The Qatar Financial Centre Authority is to host the third MultaQa Qatar conference on 14th -16th March at the Sharq Village and Spa in Doha. This pre-eminent international business event is once again being attended by top representatives of major international insurance, re-insurance and brokerage firms. The conference is being organised in association with Global Reinsurance magazine, one of the world’s leading publications for the insurance industry.
MultaQA Qatar 2009 will examine the long-term fundamentals which will continue to shape the regional insurance and reinsurance marketplace once the global economic turmoil has receded. These include above-average economic growth, driven by energy prices which are likely to rebound in the near-term; massive government-sponsored infrastructure projects (which are being continued by most countries in the region despite the current global recession) and factors which are supporting the penetration of personal lines insurance.
HE Yousef Hussain Kamal, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the QFC Authority will deliver the keynote speech at the conference, in which he will reaffirm the government’s commitment to actively support the development of the local insurance and reinsurance markets and to help create a vibrant insurance hub for the Middle East.
Other pre-eminent international and regional speakers at the conference will include Dennis L. Mahoney, Chairman Aon Global, Bob Van Gieson, Chairman, Arch Insurance Company (Europe), and Stuart Pearce, CEO & Director General, QFC Authority.
MultaQA Qatar 2009 will also showcase Qatar to visiting delegates and the programme includes city tours, a visit to the Museum of Islamic Art as well as a golf tournament.
