Qatar Financial Centre Authority launches Arabic version website

DOHA, 6 September 2009

Qatar financial centre

In an initiative to promote financial knowledge in Qatar amongst Arabic speaking professionals, as well as those entering the labour market, the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority has launched an Arabic language version of its corporate website.

The website, at http://arabic.qfc.com.qa/, has been developed by the QFC Authority’s in-house specialist resources. The website provides information on the QFC Authority and authorized firms, as well as general financial services information.

The website is the latest in a series of Arabic communication channels launched by the QFC Authority this year, including its main brochure, its annual report and an English and Arabic language magazine called q:voice for business students. These publications form part of a long term strategy to achieve widespread understanding in the community of the QFC’s role and of its achievements since it was created in 2005.

Layla Salem, Senior Media Executive, QFC Authority, says: "Developing an Arabic website was one of our key communications objectives for 2009. This website will be an excellent platform to help create a better understanding of what we do among both those in the financial sector and those considering it as a career."
