Senior management changes at QFC Authority

DOHA, 02 December 2009

  • Stuart Pearce becomes Special Advisor to QFC Authority Chairman and non-Executive Director of QFC Authority
  • Shashank Srivastava to be Acting CEO

The Board of the QFC Authority has announced that Stuart Pearce has accepted a new role of Special Adviser to the Chairman of the QFC Authority, His Excellency Yousef Hussain Kamal, for a six month period, with effect from November 19, 2009. Mr Pearce also becomes a non-Executive Director of the QFC Authority, and retains his position as a non-Executive Director of Qatar Insurance Services LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the QFC Authority.

At the same time the QFC Authority Board has announced the appointment of Mr Shashank Srivastava as Acting CEO of the QFC Authority, who will also continue in his current role as Director of Strategy & Planning for the QFC Authority.

These changes take place as part of a new strategic phase for the QFC Authority. It continues to contribute significantly to the development and deepening of Qatar’s financial sector, and to promoting Qatar as the regional financial centre of choice, but it will also increasingly focus its efforts more specifically on areas of key advantage to Qatar.

Mr Abdulrahman Ahmed Al Shaibi, Delegated Member of the Board of the QFC Authority, said: “On behalf of the Board I wish to thank Stuart for his leadership, contribution and continuing commitment to the development of the QFC for the benefit of the State of Qatar. He has been a tireless promoter of the QFC vision and mission and we have benefited tremendously over the last four and a half years from his service. We are pleased that we will continue to have access to Stuart's valuable experience as the QFC Authority refocuses its strategy going forward.”
