QFC Authority wins award as the `Best Financial Centre` in the Middle East

Global Investor magazine announces best financial institutions for 2011

 
The Qatar Financial Centre Authority is proud to announce that it has won the Global Investor magazine `Best Financial Centre Award` in the Middle East. Global Investor is a flagship publication of Euromoney Institutional Investor, a leading business publisher. Global Investor is highly regarded in the global asset management community as a prestigious publication giving authoritative coverage of the top players in the industry internationally.

Commenting on this prestigious award, Shashank Srivastava, Acting CEO of the QFC Authority said: “We are extremely proud to be recognised by such a highly regarded publication as the best financial centre in the Middle East. This award is testimony to the increasing success of our hub strategies, the strength of our legal and tax regime and our ability to market Qatar as an emerging centre for Asset Management, Reinsurance and Captives Insurance.” 

Srivastava continued: “ Credit is due, for this prestigious recognition, to the Qatari government and their policy aimed at diversifying the country’s  economy towards a knowledge-based economy enriching its level of human capital and improving its competitiveness on the foundations of the National Vision 2030.”

This year’s awards reception was held in conjunction with the Global Investor – Middle East Capital Markets Summit on the 22nd November at the Emirates Towers hotel in Dubai.
